Posters for the broadsheet/infographic using each piece of data for a set of posters that could be used as thumbnails or previews on the actual piece.
Broadsheet/Infographic of facts on the one child policy in China. Part of a brief on finding a problem and design a creative solution.
It is to show people outside of China what it is about and the effects it is having on the population which gives them the knowledge to see what is going on.
Seeking Beyond The Surface: Mirroring, Distorting, Reflecting
First brief I and a fellow student have done for a client.
The brief was to create a double sided poster and a catalogue for an exhibition held in The Art Exchange Gallery at Essex University.
Printed by Print Essex.
Hand-made folder for my screen prints I made myself.
Process Book
The second book in the series.
This book is made up of experimentation that has been done in my sketchbook. I did not want to leave all this out so I decided to create as second book showing my development. It is Japanese stab bound, and printed on Japanese rice paper.
Nintendo Book
This is one of my final books for my bookmaking and screenprinting brief.
I wanted to keep the theme throughout so I went for an orange cover, and to keep it simple embossed the lettering onto it. The inside consists a little history of the company, some memorable people, and a timeline of when each console came out in Europe and all the images are screenprinted and then scanned in for the book. A separate folder full of original prints will be along side it. The book is Japanese stab bound and printed on Japanese rice paper to keep with the companies origins.
My course has started a Mentor Me program with the designers at 15 Queens Street (http://www.15queenstreet.org/) and I had to make something that represents me in some way. Since I enjoyed doing a broadsheet, I decided to do on as a mini portfolio on the works I have done on this course, and also a little bit about me as a person.
Really like how this looks. I feel that I have learned a lot about design and improved my skills.

Here are some drawings of mine I have done during my free time. Only rough at the moment and I hope to improve in the future.

Broadsheet, Tongs and Tools.
This is my broadsheet that was part of my semester one work. The brief was entitled ’Tools of the Trades’ and the trade I got was on blacksmithing. I looked into most of the tools, but I found the tongs were most interesting as you can make your own, and the idea of a broadsheet was to convey information. In the end I designed a step by step guide to making your own tongs.
The text used is not my own words as the main point of the brief was to learn how to use indesign, layouts and grids.
Overall it turned out rather good. I do think I should of added in a background to the whole thing.

Bioshock Playing Cards.
There are from a series of playing cards that I did for a project using printmaking materials. The techniques I used included Lino printing, drypoint, letterpress and relief printing.
I decided to created cards for the popular first person shooter Bioshock.
I enjoyed the drypoint the most, and I hand coloured it all as well using prismacolor markers.
I do think however that my number cards could be improved on, but I love the Joker card as it is the one I feel turned out well and is rather distinctive.

Gay Rights Poster Designs.
These are my final poster designs for my last project last year. The theme was America and I decided to do a series of posters on gay rights and what has been accomplished over the years. Its quite shocking how recent some of these really are. Used Lyrics from Lady Gaga’s song “Born this way”
